Orientation Day – 2022-2023

A student’s academic and all-round development is not just up to the School. The parents need to be involved at every step so as to keep track of the progress their ward is making over the academic year. While it may not be possible for them to do so every day, considering they would be busy with their own professional lives, the School offers parent orientation programmes to discuss various aspects of the student’s schooling. SKZ conducted an Orientation Programme on 2nd April in the Cambridge Foundation School auditorium with the aim to familiarize the parents as ‘Partners in Progress’ with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. The teachers presented information about the all the subjects and promotion policies of the school.
A special interactive session for the parents was conducted by Dr. Bharka Shorey a highly qualified, and renowned a child occupational therapist in dealing with special learning abilities. The Oreintation ended with an interactive session with the parents and vote of thanks by the School In-Charge.

Welcome Back

Celebrate endings—for they precede new beginnings.

For the past two years the corridors, classrooms, infact every nook and corner of the school missed the chirping and enthusiasm of the students.

With adventures online, it’s time now to take them back to the real world. Students and teachers were equally excited to be back on the physical mode of teaching learning. We at SKZ understand that transitioning from online to offline is challenging yet exciting and new for students. The caring and affectionate teachers were ready to take students to explore and embark on this beautiful journey of learning, teachers prepared constructive worksheets, where students will learn by performing multiple activities. It was a fun-filled day where they met their virtual friends in real life. Indeed new bonds are made and the last ones grow stronger.

As a new day dawned the Pre-Primary Wing, the doors to the Little Steps opened on April 4th, for the tiny tots. Kindergarten is a stepping stone to the learner’s foundation, and our toddlers entered the corridors of school life directly from their homes, for the first time! The bundles of nervousness and excitement looked whimsical, as they appeared freshly bloomed from a nascent bud, waiting to spread its colourful petals out. A host of activities was conducted by the energetic facilitators, involving games, poems.

The new academic session commenced on an embedded positive note, filing the atmosphere with overwhelming emotions. The other children too seemed enthralled with the notion of ‘back to school’ as the grin on their faces was evident. Each little angel was welcomed with open arms and endearing smiles, making them feel at home right from the inaugural day. The children expressed themselves through a myriad range of emotions- making the day memorable and thought provoking. The Pre-Primary facilitators were extremely thoughtful in interacting with the hopeful parents, mingling with the kids as one of them and immersing themselves in all the diverse activities. Indeed, it was a rocking start for the first time scholars, with their cheerful cry resounding in the classrooms as a symbolisation of vibrancy and jubilance. The entire team of SKZ wishes each of the learners a year filled with meaningful learning, positivity and abundant fun.

Celebrating Red Colour Day

“Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice”

Anton Chekhov.

The Colour Red symbolises love, energy and life force. It can be called the colour of magic. Having colour themed days is a great way to reinforce the essential knowledge about colours to children. Keeping this in mind, Sheila’s Kids Zone celebrated Red Colour Day on 27th April to introduce the primary colour Red colour to the children. Our Kindergarten students were asked to dress in shades of red on the day. The teachers also joined the celebration by wearing red coloured dresses to School. The classrooms were decorated with different bright red pictures. The children were asked to bring different red coloured things like apples, tomatoes, pomegranates, strawberries etc. The teachers arranged A Red Party and rhymes were sung by the teachers and the students about all red things. The little ones were mesmerised by watching the enactment of The Little Red Hen by their teachers. Finally, the students were given a treat of chocolates and red coloured jelly.
