Puppet Show

A Puppet Show was organized for the toddlers of SKZ. The tiny tots were enthralled to watch their favourite characters come alive. The show was planned to enable the kids to learn to converse and formulate their thoughts and words to the best. Children were amazed to see their favourite stories unfolding before their eyes. The show of Puppets changed the entire classroom developing more possibilities for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and curiosity.

Rotation and Revolution

The Earth moves in two ways. It spins and it moves around the Sun. The spinning of the Earth is called rotation. It takes the Earth about 24 hours, or one day to make one complete rotation. At the same time, the Earth is moving around the Sun. This is called a revolution. It takes a little over 365 days, or one year, for the Earth to make one full revolution around the Sun. The concept of Rotation and Revolution was explained to this Prep Class students through an activity conducted on 1st August 2022. The toddlers thoroughly enjoyed the activity. They also watched a movie on the Earth and Sun Rotation.

This and That

Language development is an integral part of a child’s overall growth. It is worth making the investment in teaching the grammar concepts to the students early, so that they can use it correctly when being specific in their language. The Nursery teachers taught the concept of this/that on 2nd August. The use of this/that which is very common in daily language. Teachers explained this concept by using illustrative examples with pictures. The teachers also narrated a story using this and that.

Celebrating Friendship Day

SKZ celebrated Friendship Day on 5th August 2022, to commemorate the bond of friendship between the students. The celebrations included both the Nursery and Prep classes. All the toddlers brought a friendship band and a chocolate for his or her friend. They children tied a band on each other’s wrists. This friendship day brought them closer and showered lots of joy and happiness.

Celebrating Raksha Bandhan

India’s festivals reflect the country’s rich cultural abundance. Breaking the humdrum of daily routine,These festivals bring with them a wave of excitement, happiness and hope even in the most difficult times.

The Pre-primary wing of Sheila’s Kids Zone celebrated Raksha Bandhan with full zeal and joy that one associates with this auspicious festival. The main objective behind celebrating ‘Raksha Bandhan’ was making the children aware about the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions. The tiny tots, in traditional attire enthusiastically tied a Rakhi on the wrist of their brothers and also participated in colouring activities. The vibrant, colourful attires and innocent smiles brightened the ambience and lifted the spirit. “ The bond between a sister and a brother, sometimes tightly woven, sometimes loosely held, but never broken.”

Independence Day Celebrations

India is a nation with rich heritage, culture, and tradition, India is strengthening its hard, as well as soft power with time. But, all this became possible when India became free 75 years ago. And this we mark as Independence day! Independence Day was celebrated with nationalistic fervour and enthusiasm on Friday August 12th, 2022. The School was decorated with tri-coloured flags and the celebration filled the students with patriotism and love for the country. Various activities were conducted for the students, such as; making a tri-coloured badge, and making the national flag using saffron and green paper. The students came dressed as freedom fighters, patriots and carried props related to Independence day. All the students participated enthusiastically and enjoyed the activities. They also learned about the many freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The walls of the School echoed with the singing of the National Anthem.

Celebrating Janamashtami

Janamashtami is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. The toddlers of SKZ participated enthusiastically in a flute and matki making activity. The children made paper flutes and decorated them with vibrant colours of peacock feathers and also decorated the matki beautifully. They also enjoyed watching a movie on ‘Krishna Janamashtmi’.

Talent Hunt

A Talent Hunt is an opportunity for students to showcase their unique skills. A talent show was organized to encourage and motivate the little ones. The children showcased their exceptional talent in music, dance, singing and painting. All the participants mesmerized the audience under a magical  spell through their truly creative and enchanting acts. Events like these not only help the participating students to display their abilities but also motivate other students to come up front and highlight their latent potential.

Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi

To seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated by the students in a unique manner. The students were explained about the significance of the festival and the importance of eco-friendly ways of celebrating the festival. The children were also shown a movie on “Lord Ganesha”. The celebrations brought out devotion, creativity, understanding and learning in the young minds. Many toddlers came to School dressed as Gods and Goddesses, and enjoyed a colouring and craft activity in which they made Ganesha effigies using paper plates and glasses. Overall it was an enjoyable day for all.
