Orientation Day
SKZ conducted a Virtual Orientation programme for the parents of the Nursery and Prep Class students on Saturday 3rd, April 2021. Dr. Anita Puri addressed all the parents and welcomed them. She told them that in the prevailing times technology had come to man’s rescue in the smooth functioning of the School system. The subject teachers briefed the parents about their respective subjects, books, expectations from the parents and some important instructions. The meeting ended with the teachers thanking the parents for participating enthusiastically in the programme and understanding the ethos of the School. The event was streamed live on the School’s Facebook Page.

Welcome to SKZ – The First Day of A New Beginning
The beginning of new session is always an auspicious time. A time for new hope and renewed dreams. Excitement and enthusiasm was high among the students and there was an eagerness to meet their new friends virtually. Sheila’s Kids Zone began the new Academic Session on 5th April 2021 by welcoming the students. The students were embraced with a frolicsome atmosphere of the digital world. The day started with the School assembly. Afterwards, the students greeted their class teachers. Then, the students gave their introductions. They all enjoyed warming up with the music and the introductions. The little ones were quite happy and enjoyed their first experience of the School digitally.

Its Party Time
Sheila’s Kids Zone organized a Welcome Party for all the new students on 9th April 2021. The Kindergarten wing was gleaming with fresh buds that came to start their new life. The Teachers also welcomed the little ones. The kids were dressed in their best party attire. The teachers decorated their background with balloons and played different songs. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves by tapping their feet on the music. Teachers showered blessing for their bright future. Students enjoyed very much.

Baisakhi Celebrations
The virtual portals of the School were ready with zeal and gusto for the Baisakhi celebration on 13th April 2021, through online classes, as it marks the New Year and the Spring Harvest festival for the Sikhs. The tiny tots participated with full enthusiasm and looked very mesmerizing in their colourful Punjabi attire. They also decorated their backgrounds with colourful charts and balloons. The kids were informed about the importance and significance of the festival. The little tots enjoyed themselves to the fullest as they danced on their favourite Punjabi songs. All together it was a day full of fun and enjoyment.

Celebrating Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti
SKZians celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution of India on 13th April 2021. The teachers informed the students about Dr. Ambedkar’s birth and his contribution in the framing the society. In the online classes the tiny tots sang about the world being round which was melodious as well as interesting. The teachers taught message that “One need not be born into great and influential families but with goal, hard work and responsibilities one can become great”, taking the example of our very own Dr. B R Ambedkar. Lastly they motivated the students to follow in his footsteps and inculcate his values in their lives to achieve their aim and uplift society.

Eating at The Table
Table manners are etiquettes used while eating, which may also include the appropriate use of utensils. Different cultures observe different rules for table manners. Table manners have evolved over centuries to make the practice of eating with others pleasant and sociable. An online activity for the kids was conducted on 20th April. The teachers showed the kids how fine dinning cutlery is laid out. The children were also taught about proper eating manners. The toddlers took part in this activity with great enthusiasm and enjoyed it immensely.

Celebrating Earth Day
Earth Day has not only had a positive impact on the environment globally, but it has also played a significant role at the local level. Celebrating Earth Day serves as a conscious reminder of how fragile our planet is and how important it is to protect it. The students of SKZ observed the Earth Day with enthusiasm. The day is observed each year on April 22nd with an aim to increase awareness and appreciate the nature and environment of our planet. Various activities were held through virtual classes. Teachers told the students about the importance of natural resources. Students of various classes made posters and charts on the theme ‘Save Earth Save life’. The teachers rekindled emotive concerns and instigated the youngsters to save, love and respect mother nature with all their heart and soul.

SKZ Sheilas Kids Zone
